Leadership SA provides capacity building programmes and interventions in HR leadership for companies.

HR Flagship Programmes

Programmes are normally aimed at enabling HR professionals to move from implementers of HR processes to fulfil the role of strategic business partners who are able to facilitate solutions to business challenges at a strategic level.

Participants have the opportunity to develop the following broad competencies:

  • The ability to solve complex strategic problems through the application of systems thinking methodologies.
  • The ability to function as an effective leader within their organisation and profession
  • The ability to facilitate change and transformation within their organisation through effective consulting processes
  • A knowledge of how a business works and in particular the strategy of their own organisation
  • The ability to design and apply cutting edge HR strategies, such as talent management and the creation of a high performance culture, to meet the future needs of their organisations
  • A variety of learning methodologies are applied including access to cutting edge faculty and facilitators, action learning projects, coaching and electronic interaction.

Participants are encouraged to develop individual learning plans and learning is integrated into the organisational HR strategy and processes.

Prior to the design of capacity building programmes an intensive needs analysis is conducted and, where required, an organisation specific competency framework is designed.

For individuals, rather than organisations, needing this type of intervention, the University of Stellenbosch - Executive Development (USB-Ed) Programme in Strategic HR Leadership is recommended. It is run by Terry Meyer.

HR Consulting Skills

On completion of the course participants will be able to:

  • Understand the importance and role of consulting in their role as HR business partners and specialists
  • Understand the personal attributes and behaviours of impactful consultants and develop a value proposition for themselves
  • Understand the different consulting roles and formulate effective client relationship processes
  • Apply a variety of frameworks and processes to facilitate strategic problem solving for clients
  • Apply a systems based approach to process and change management consulting. This is based on an OD consulting framework.
  • Diagnose causes of organizational problems
  • Facilitate processes to resolve such problems, whether at the level of teams or organisation wide interventions
  • Apply specific facilitation processes to effectively work with groups
